This room is designed for entertaining on a grand scale.  The room is large, the windows are tall, and so the scale of the treatments needs to be consistent with those characteristics.  A classic Kingston style valance on a decorative rod over drapery panels in coordinating rose colored silk fabrics and with large gold tassel tiebacks create the traditional and sophisticated look the owner requested.
